INDICATORI PER LA VALUTAZIONE DELL'APPROPRIATEZZA DEL PERCORSO NASCITA
2015
Independent Impact of RV Involvement on In-Hospital Outcome of Patients With Takotsubo Syndrome
2016
Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is an acute clinical condition characterized by transient left ventricular dysfunction and reversible heart failure, the pathogenetic mechanism of which remains unclear. Although left ventricular apical ballooning is the most frequent morphological pattern, other variant forms have been described (1). In addition, right ventricular involvement (RVi), characterized by the presence of right ventricular (RV) apical dysfunction (biventricular ballooning), has been documented using echocardiography or cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. However, the prevalence, clinical profile, and in-hospital course of TTS patients with RVi are still not well defined. To date, although…
Diabetes Mellitus and Its Impact on Patient-Profile and In-Hospital Outcomes in Peripheral Artery Disease
2021
Background: In patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD), the impact of diabetes mellitus (DM) on patient-profile and adverse in-hospital events is not well investigated. Methods: The German nationwide inpatient sample 2005–2019 was used for this analysis. Hospitalized PAD patients were stratified for DM and the influence of DM on patient-profile and adverse in-hospital events was investigated. Results: Our study comprised 2,654,871 hospitalizations (54.3% aged ≥70 years, 36.7% females) of patients with PAD in Germany 2005–2019. Among these, 864,691 (32.6%) patients had DM and 76,716 (2.9%) died during hospitalization. Diabetic PAD patients revealed an aggravated cardiovascular profile …
TCT-16 Patient and Procedural Characteristics and In-Hospital Outcomes Associated With the Use of Retrograde Recanalization Techniques for Chronic To…
2016
Since the introduction of the Hybrid Algorithm for Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) PCI, the use of retrograde recanalization techniques has become more common. We sought to identify patient and procedural characteristics necessitating use of retrograde CTO techniques using a multicenter, adjudicated,
